Associate Dev Manager, Quality Assurance

We are looking for a talented and passionate Associate Dev Manager, Quality Assurance to join our team in Markham to deliver mission-critical platform features. You will be a key contributor to create the best cloud based CX solution focusing on AI and providing the best end-to-end experiences. Managing a team of Software Developers in Test, you will be accountable for delivery of a comprehensive test strategy and to create robust test frameworks and test suites. You will have the opportunity to expose to cloud technologies like Lambda, DynamoDB, as well as other AWS services.

A Successful QA Manager Will:
  • Provide technical and project leadership on testing solutions
  • Works with other teams to leverage testing best practices between the groups
  • Strong knowledge of quality management methodologies and techniques
  • Lead and mentor QA Engineers
  • Provide technical guidance to team members in their areas of responsibility
  • Conduct reviews to help ensure that development process is followed and that the criteria for delivery to product owners are attained.
  • Actively engaged in seeking new information which yields understanding systems and their integrations
  • Build trust and maintain relationships with team members of product management and development
  • Coordinate test efforts for projects involving multiple teams to ensure appropriate test coverage
  • Expert in the architecture, design, and customer use cases for their team's services, dependencies and product
  • Identify acceptance criteria for complex projects and determine priorities for test automation to balance operational efficiency with sufficient test coverage
  • Identify areas of risk for performance, longevity, and architectural robustness by designing and running longevity and destructive tests
  • Assist support engineers with escalated customer issues by reading logs, explaining intended behaviors, and identifying defects

Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (preferred) or related degrees or equivalent in work experience.
The following qualifications are required

  • Expert proficiency of the following:
o Ability to analyze and interpret data using software analytics services such as New Relic and SumoLogic to monitor services and diagnose problems
o Ability to use delivery pipeline automation and configuration tools such as Jenkins
o Understanding of how application frameworks such as Spring and NodeJS are used to develop applications
  • Advance proficiency of the following:
o Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA)
o Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
o Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) using programming languages such as Java and Python
o Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns
o Knowledge of multi-tier web applications and technologies such as HTTP, JavaScript, and JSON in a service-oriented architecture (SOA)
o Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) such as EC2 and S3
o Knowledge of agile testing methodologies and best practices for continuous delivery (CD)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years of industry experience
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Testing cloud services for security and for compliance with HIPPA, PCI, and SSAE-16
